Hi Everyone!

Thank you to all of those who turned out for this year’s Annual Meeting. We had 100 people again this year!  It is so wonderful to see the amazing turnout again.

There was lots of information covered in this year’s meeting, so please take some time to review the powerpoint and the notes sections of the slides so that you are up to date. Please also watch the AIS Public Meeting video, led by Sara Hatleli of Aquatic Plant & Habitat services, to learn more about the next steps we will be taking as a Lake to address our Eurasian Water Milfoil (EWM).

I encourage you to take a look at the current EWM map locations, and to print off a few copies for you and your boating guests. Remember, if you come across EWM, kill your engine/lift your rudder, float out, and dispose of any hangers-on in a sealed garbage bag. The more we all avoid these colonies and clumps, the better our success at supporting the health of our lake!

I am excited to announce the re-election of John Zoller to the Board, and the election of three new Board members: Duncan Geddes, John Stange, and Nick Waterman!  At this time, the Board has reached its maximum of 12, per the Big Siss bylaws. We are so lucky to have such an engaged and active board!

I will be stepping back from the President position for the 2024 year, but will finish my 3-year board member term by managing the grant and taking on any assigned projects. It is my hope to continue to serve and be a steward to Lake Sissabagama and its wonderful resources.

When we all work together (as homeowners, their families, or guests) as stewards of our beautiful, “gem of a lake,” we can ensure that our lake stays healthy for generations to come!

Thank you,
